Koostq is a session guitarist, songwriter and producer from Bulgaria with a passion for contemporary blues, rock and Americana. Kootsq influences include Charlie Hunter, Derek Trucks, John Scofield, The Bros Landerth, Blake Mills, Madison Cunningham and many others. As a guitarist, Kootsq spends his time crafting an approach to the instrument that combines my interest in traditional slide playing with my roots in jazz, funk and fusion. As a writer/producer he is drawn to the warm tones and classic songwriting of the 60s and 70s, and how they translate into modern blues, rock and pop. So far Kootsq has had the opportunity to contribute to a number of studio recordings and live performances for up-and-coming pop/rock acts in Bulgaria. He was also part of the house band of ‘The Voice of Bulgaria’ during seasons 8 and 9.
I had noticed a few Chapman guitars in studios around London and would occasionally try them out during sessions. I was instantly drawn to one of the early ML3s, owned by a friend, and ended up using it on most of my first album. Years later, I was fortunate enough to get in touch with Rob and didn't think twice! What I like most about my ML3 is the versatility. All the classic sounds are there, but it also has a warmer side that I've rarely come across with T-style guitars. I rarely play anything else nowadays!
